Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome to the part of the Knowledge Base where we answer the questions people actually ask — plus a few they only think about asking. If your question isn't here, we'd genuinely love to hear it: drop us a line and we may just add it below.
The Basics
What is Identitrain Central, exactly?
Identitrain Central is our training portal for the wonderful, occasionally maddening world of identity and access management. It's the one place to browse our courses, book a seat in a live class, work through self-paced on-demand content, and keep track of everything you've learned along the way.
Think of it as mission control for your identity-management skills. No rocket required.
Do I need an account?
You can browse the catalog, read the Knowledge Base, and window-shop to your heart's content without signing in. To book a class or save your progress, you'll want an account — it's free to create and takes about a minute. Use the Create an account link in the menu, and you're off.
I forgot my password / can't log in. Help?
Use the Log in button and follow the "forgot password" prompt to reset it. If you're still locked out, contact us and we'll get you back in. We promise the irony of an identity-training company helping you recover your identity is not lost on us.
What's up with the different class colors?
Ah, the question we knew you'd ask. Those cheerful orange, blue, yellow, and green cards in the Upcoming Courses grid on our home page have sent more than one person hunting for a secret code.
Here's the big reveal: there isn't one. The colors are purely decorative. Each card simply takes the next color in our palette as it lines up on the page, so the grid looks bright and lively instead of a wall of identical boxes. A green card isn't more beginner-friendly than an orange one, a blue class isn't fancier than a yellow one, and no — sorry — you can't request your lucky color at checkout. (We did ask. The answer was a polite no.)
So if you've been reading the tea leaves: enjoy the rainbow, but don't overthink it. The only thing a card's color tells you is roughly where it landed in the list. Everything else is just us being colorful.
Courses, Schedule, and On-Demand — what's the difference?
We slice our content a few different ways, and the menu names tell you how:
- Courses — the catalog. This is the what: every subject we teach, described in full, whether or not a date is currently on the calendar.
- Schedule — the when. Upcoming live classes with real dates, times, and open seats you can book.
- On-Demand — the whenever-you-like. Pre-recorded video and online courses you can start the moment you're enrolled and work through at your own pace.
A single subject might appear as a course and have scheduled live dates and have an on-demand version. Variety is the spice of learning.
Booking & Paying for Live Classes
How do I book a seat?
Find a class you like under Schedule, pick the date that works, and follow the checkout. Once you've paid, your seat is reserved and the class shows up in My Training.
What do "Remote", "In-Person", and "Blended" mean?
That's the delivery format of a live class:
- Remote — join live from anywhere with an internet connection.
- In-Person — a physical classroom; the location is listed on the class.
- Blended — a mix of the two, because sometimes one size doesn't fit all.
Why is the class time different from my clock?
We show each class in its own time zone — the one the class is actually run in — and we label it clearly, rather than guessing at yours. So if a class runs in Europe/London and you're in New York, you'll see London time on the listing. Do the math once at booking and you'll never be an awkward five hours early.
Can I cancel or get a refund?
Plans change — we get it. You can request a cancellation from the class card in My Training, and we'll take it from there. If anything's unclear or time-sensitive, just contact us directly and a human will sort you out.
Where are my receipts and past purchases?
Everything you've bought lives under My Orders, complete with the details for your records (and your accountant, who we hear is also a fan of receipts).
My Training
What is the "My Training" timeline?
It's your personal learning story, laid out on a timeline: live classes you've attended, on-demand courses you've worked through, and even training you did elsewhere. Past events sit behind you; anything you've booked for the future sits ahead, slightly faded, waiting its turn.
Can I add training I did somewhere else?
Yes! Add an External entry (the purple ones) for courses, certifications, or conferences you completed off-platform. Your timeline is more useful when it's the whole picture, not just the bits that happened here.
Still Stuck?
I have a question that isn't here.
First: thank you, you've just helped us improve this page. Second: contact us and we'll point you in the right direction. If you're an organization looking to train a whole team, our partnerships page is the place to start.
Where can I read about privacy, cookies, and terms?
We keep the serious-but-important reading in the Knowledge Base too:
Happy learning — and may all your access requests be approved on the first try.
